The Pitta Dosha

Ayurvedic medicine is not something that should be taken lightly. In fact, it has been found to be one of the most important ways that people can remain healthy in all aspects. It has a direct impact on not only one's physical health, but also their emotional and mental health. As far as this type of medicine is concerned, people are a combination of three different doshas, kapha, pitta, and vata.

Typically, there is one of these types that is more predominant than the other two, making that person more closely associated with that particular type. However, they all have to exist in balance with each other or problems start to persist. If you want to learn more about the pitta dosha, you can find out more information below.

Physical Traits

People that are more attuned with the pitta dosha are often quite easy to spot from a physical standpoint. They usually have a medium build and fine or thin hair. In some cases, their hair might be red but that isn't always the case so you can't go by the color of the hair alone. These people also display a strong sex drive along with a high level of energy and an ability to eat virtually anything without it bothering them, thanks in large part having excellent digestion.

Mental and Emotional Traits

It’s usually fairly easy to spot someone that's more closely associated with the pitta dosha, even if you haven't seen them or aren't familiar with the related physical traits. These people tend to be perfectionists. They're very precise in what they say and what they do. They also have a tendency to be so direct that many people consider them to be sharp-tongued or even sarcastic. It isn't that these individuals are trying to hurt anyone's feelings or be mean in any capacity. They merely have a habit of getting right to the point.
For them, it's simply the way they communicate. They expect others to communicate with them in the same manner, so it can sometimes cause a problem when they're around people that are highly sensitive or that are more used to sugar coating everything. These individuals don't like to spend a lot of time beating around the bush. They prefer to address people and issues directly and figure out what needs to be done in order to solve a problem so they can get right to work. They're also extremely intelligent and have a laser-like focus until the task at hand has been completed. Despite their ability to unintentionally offend people with their direct nature, they're actually quite friendly once they warm up to you.

Potential Issues

If the pitta dosha becomes out of balance, people can become quite irritable. They also have a tendency to blame other people for anything that hasn't gone the way they wanted it to. Since they are a perfectionist at heart, they can become easily frustrated with the idea that everything isn't going exactly right. Their penchant for directness can also get out of control. The end result is often a case where they have offended many people by allowing their own anxieties to get out of hand. When they get irritable or they become frustrated by something, they have a tendency to lash out at others as opposed to admitting their own part in the problem.
Remember, the pitta dosha can be quite wonderful when it's in balance. Like anything else, problems start to arise when it becomes out of balance. That's why it's so important for pitta types to make sure they stay in balance, as it is possible to do irreparable damage to relationships if they allow themselves to get out of control.
